[ HELP ME GIVE ] Allen, Plano, Dallas Texas Photographer
October 29, 2009After tucking my son into bed tonight, my mind keeps going back to an article I read earlier today online. It was a story in the Waco area about pediatric hospice nurses who care for a 2 year old girl batting a rare form of cancer. I read the entire article choked up and I was so moved. Afterward, I did a search and planned to contact the family and offer a complimentary session near their home to help celebrate her life, love and all that she had given her parents in her precious short life. I couldn’t help but wonder what she was like. Her personality. Her strength. Her mother’s strength. The hospice nurses strength. Their hope and devoted care at such a heartbreaking time. I wanted to give this family the gift of a few hours of her life in photographs.
Upon a web search, I found that this beautiful little girl passed away two days ago. So, readers, help me give. Help me find someone that I can pass this gift on to. I was too late for MaKenzie, but it can be just in time for someone else. I don’t know anyone of any age in hospice care or terminally ill with no hope for a cure. I’m willing to bet some of you know of someone deserving in the area that is. A relative, a co-worker, a neighbor, someone at church or their family member. Send them here to me and I want to use my talent to give back by the holidays. For free. It can be a child, a teen, the elderly or anyone of any age in between. Email me a little part of their life and who they are. I would also love to give something special back to a very special hospice nurse that cares for ill, watches them fade through their life, right through to the end.
I can’t help but look at my perfectly healthy three year old son and know that there is somebody out there that someone loves- that probably won’t be here at Christmastime. Please help me give something back.
