After tucking my son into bed tonight, my mind keeps going back to an article I read earlier today online. It was a story in the Waco area about pediatric hospice nurses who care for a 2 year old girl batting a rare form of cancer.  I  read the entire article choked up and I was so moved.  Afterward, I did a search and planned to contact the family and offer a complimentary session near their home to help celebrate her life, love and all that she had given her parents in her precious short life.  I couldn’t help but wonder what she was like.  Her personality.  Her strength.  Her mother’s strength.  The hospice nurses strength.  Their hope and devoted care at such a heartbreaking time.  I wanted to give this family the gift of a few hours of her life in photographs.

Upon a web search, I found that this beautiful little girl passed away two days ago.  So, readers, help me give.  Help me find someone that I can pass this gift on to.  I was too late for MaKenzie, but it can be just in time for someone else.  I don’t know anyone of any age in hospice care or terminally ill with no hope for a cure.  I’m willing to bet some of you know of someone deserving in the area that is.  A relative, a co-worker, a neighbor, someone at church or their family member.  Send them here to me and I want to use my talent to give back by the holidays. For free.  It can be a child, a teen, the elderly or anyone of any age in between.  Email me a little part of their life and who they are.  I would also love to give something special back to a very special hospice nurse that cares for ill, watches them fade through their life, right through to the end.

I can’t help but look at my perfectly healthy three year old son and know that there is somebody out there that someone loves- that probably won’t be here at Christmastime.   Please help me give something back.

I spend a lot of time this weekend with sweet baby Maya.  She blessed her anticipating family two weeks early and she could not be more perfect.  She has the most gorgeous head of hair that I have ever seen on new baby- not to mention those scrumptious feet.  She makes it very clear why I love this job so much.  Her mom was referred to me and she said she knew I would capture all those sweet little parts that newborns lose so quickly.  I adore all the time we spent together and I hope you enjoy the sneak peek (extended peek I should say!)  :)

(… so just a few of my favorites so far.  More to come soon…)

(Post updated 10/10/09)

The holiday mini sessions have updated and new dates posted HERE.

I’ve added several additional dates for Fall, so check the website calendar for those.  I am now able to take a few weekday sessions too!

Also, my blog reader numbers have really grown, so here’s a quick thank you:  The first new client to book an Oct/Nov standard session (not a mini) by this Monday will get a $75 print credit toward their order.  Send me an email with the session date desired (check my website calendar) and tell me the credit is yours!   Hurry :)

Currently I am sick with a respiratory infection.  I have very little voice left and I am trying to save what’s left. All phone calls will be answered by voice mail this weekend, so please leave me your email address and we’ll converse that way or call back Monday.  My son is getting over a cold too, so it’s been a long week here.  Thanks and have a great weekend!
