I am afraid I am a little late in wishing you all a Happy New Year, but better late than never I suppose.  I’ll try and post some recent sessions when I am back in the office but no promises.  Backlogging is not my specialty as I have let my blog about die on occassion.  It’s been a busy season here and I am still enjoying family time and some extra special time with baby Grey who turns a year old this month.  Where did it go?   If I can’t figure it out I will go through the thousands and thousands of photos and snapsnots taken during his first year.

Good and bad, funny or embarrasing- I keep just about every photo I take of family.  Every one has a story and this one poses a question:  will he be a gymnast or a photographer?  Each parent has one trait or the other.  Hmmmm…

Until next time,

Rhonda

Brotherly love.  One day these brothers will look back at their parents heirloom photo album and laugh over and over again at this image.  A new favorite of mine, hands down!

Cyber Monday offer!!  Reserve a 2012 session to take place before April 30th and get half off of the standard $200 session fee with 10% off orders.  It’s a perfect opportunity to get a warm and cozy in-home session for babies & small children or lifestyle families.  Email me by Tuesday at midnight to take advantage of this offer (you do not have to specify a date at that time).  Current clients, be sure to let your friends know and earn your $75 referral credits!

I am currently unavailable and quite sick.  I have no voice left and so all phone calls will go to voicemail until this weekend.  I will check emails and send orders out as they come so there is no delay there.  Happy Thanksgiving to all and to all a restful night.

p.s.  yes, that was a little pun for you.  my 10 month old is sick too- and teething, so none of us here are getting much rest!

Hellllooooo out there in neglected blogland.   It has been a very, very busy year for me and I have not had time to catch up or post much.  I did not plan to have a mini session event this year but I have made the weekend of December 3-4 work and will take ONLY five (5) mini session clients at this Allen location.  Turn around times will be ultra fast and galleries will be up within a couple of days so you can get your images online and you can order all the prints you need.

This is the last chance for a mini session with Rhonda Duron Photography until next year so if you are a new client wanting a session or a current client just wanting some updated photos to give as gifts- there is still time.  $75 reserves your slot and the remainer is due three days prior to your session.  Contact me before they’re gone  at info(at)rhondaduronphotography(dot)com.

Just for some eye candy, here is a session at the location that will be used in Allen. It’s gorgeous this time of year and this session was at 8:00am.  I did his newborn session last year and he’s grown into quite a sweet- and fast- little guy.

I am proud to announce that I am an affiliate photographer with I Picture Hope, a new international network of professional photographers, makeup artists, and stylists who work together to offer free photo sessions and images to women who are fighting or surviving breast cancer.

I think everyone knows someone who has had- or has been affected by breast cancer.  I encourage anyone reading this to reach out to those in treatment or who have survived breast cancer and send her this link quickly because I am ready to get started and feel very passionate about helping and-  I have something to say to her…

Breast cancer is a beast that can sometimes make women feel like their beauty or femininity is being threatened.  Experiencing chemotherapy, radiation, medications or surgery can take a toll on how you may see yourself and nothing will make me happier than to photograph you and help you feel as beautiful on the ouside as you really are on the inside.  Cancer cannot kill your love or your friendship or your spirit so that is something to celebrate all for yourself.  Without cost or sales, I will provide you with a complimentary portrait session, for you and only you.  It won’t take too much of your time, it won’t be complicated, there is no family or children to prepare and you can wear what you feel beautiful in. Whether you are at the beginning of this chapter, are tired and in the middle of treatment, or if you are a survivor, I would love to meet you and hear your story.   After your session, I will edit the images to perfection and will provide you with ten digital images that you can print and share just how you choose.  Please email me your story- as much or as little as you want:   info(at)rhondaduronphotography(dot)com and I will give you full details and help to talk you into it if you are having reservations.  You deserve this.

Whether you are just stopping by as a client, are a photographer or stylist or anyone at all, please support this brand network by joining and sharing the I Picture Hope Facebook Fan page located [HERE].  They are working very hard to complete a website and get states and countries listed asap (but don’t let that stop anyone today- post on the page!)  Please take 6 seconds join and be a part of something great!

Once in a while, I get inspired to try different things and reconnect with what I love to photograph.  I am putting out a casting call for newborn babies that will be born by the end of October in the north Dallas metro area or within 20 miles of Allen zip 75002.

Here are my the details and requirements:

- The $200 session fee is waived and it will be free of charge; includes one set of custom birth announcements (orders may be placed, if desired, at standard 2011 rates)

- you must have good light beaming through windows in your home (or parents, friends- where ever you choose).  I would like the best, light to be tween 10am- 2pm

- no preference if it is a boy or girl;  twins will earn you a 10% discount on orders.  Must be photographed at 5-10 days old.

- this particular casting is strictly for would be clients; other photographers not allowed

- signed model release required

- I would strongly prefer some mom/baby skin on skin images (wrapped in muslin, not nude) and/or descreet nursing shots if you are breastfeeding.  It’s strongly encouraged, but not required.

++ Send  a wide pullback snapshot of the fabulous window and general area that is in the prime period listed above, other children you may have, your due date, if you are willing to do the last shots mentioned above and any other details you wish to include.  Email to info(at)rhondaduronphotography(dot)com    I will take into consideration all of the above requirements, so please double check your details.

Feel free to post this onto your Facebook or forward along to interested ladies that will fit my needs.  Thanks so much!

My sweet boy turned five last month.  five. years. old.  I knew time passed by too quickly with one child, but add another to the mix and it all goes by at the speed of light.

We decided to find a new location for his portraits this year.  We had fun exploring, being silly, finding treasures by the beach, admiring the boats and watching the sun set over the lake as we had dinner on the water.  It was a good evening.

I am so proud of my soon-to-be kindergartener and I love him beyond words.

My little sunshine is five.
